Tallahassee, Fla. – Johnny L. Robinson, 34, of Melbourne, Fla., was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after previously pleading guilty in federal court to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. The plea was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

U.S. Attorney Heekin said: “This successful prosecution and lengthy prison sentence is a yet another victory on behalf of the communities in my district that have been plagued by deadly drugs flooding our streets. President Donald J. Trump and Attorney General Todd Blanche have deployed the full might of the Department of Justice toward improving the safety and health of our communities, and my office will continue to aggressively prosecute drug traffickers, like this defendant, to deliver the safe, drug-free streets our citizens deserve.”

Court documents reflect that, beginning in January 2024, the defendant provided co-conspirators with methamphetamine on at least three different occasions. Those co-conspirators then transported the methamphetamine into the Northern District of Florida and distributed it in the Panama City, Fla., area. At the time he provided the methamphetamine, the defendant was aware it would be distributed and specifically agreed that the weight of the methamphetamine was at least 50 grams. In total, the defendant and his co-conspirators conspired to distribute almost 500 grams of methamphetamine.

“Our Panhandle communities will be safer with this drug distributor off the streets” said DEA Special Agent in Charge Daniel Escobar, Tampa Field Division. “I’m proud of the way our agents and law enforcement partners worked together for justice.”

The case involved a joint investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Inspection Service, and Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

“The Postal Inspection Service is committed to identifying and pursuing those who use the U.S. Mail to traffic illegal narcotics,” said Bladismir Rojo, Inspector in Charge, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Miami Division. “Along with our local, state and federal law enforcement partners, we will locate not just the individuals who receive the drugs, but those who go to great lengths to send it.”

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
