Las Vegas Man Sentenced to Prison for Distribution of Methamphetamine
LAS VEGAS – A Las Vegas man who admitted to conspiring with others to distribute methamphetamine was sentenced today by United States District Judge Cristina D. Silva to 96 months in prison, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release. The government recommended a sentence of 108 months in prison.
“Our office continues to demonstrate that ultimate objective of this administration is not the temporary containment or mere management of a narcotics epidemic, but absolute victory over the illicit drug networks poisoning our communities,” said First Assistant United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada. “We will use every tool at our disposal to eliminate the supply, enforce maximum prosecution, and restore safety to American neighborhoods.”
“As reported by the Centers for Disease Control, Methamphetamine ranks as the second-most frequent cause of drug overdose deaths and poisonings in the United States, tracking closely behind fentanyl,” said David S. Olesky, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration Los Angeles Field Division, which covers Nevada. “Securing convictions for drug criminals is essential to halting the flow of destructive drugs into our communities. The DEA and our law enforcement partners and prosecutors remain steadfast in our commitment to keep communities safe from dangerous drugs, like methamphetamine, by reducing demand, holding accountable the drug distributors and their networks, and addressing the precursor chemical supply chains. The goal is to save lives.”
Ismael Preciado-Granados conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine in Las Vegas. From March 5, 2024, to April 17, 2024, Preciado-Granados arranged for his co-conspirators to deliver and sell methamphetamine to other individuals.
