Twelve arrested; significant quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and illegal firearms seized.

NEW ORLEANS – Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) New Orleans Field Division Steven Hofer, alongside the Slidell Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the 22nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office, today announced the successful conclusion of "Operation Clear Horizon."

The multi-agency, proactive narcotics investigation spanned from March through May 2026, aggressively targeting the distribution and trafficking of lethal, illicit narcotics throughout the City of Slidell and surrounding areas.

As a result of the coordinated operation, law enforcement personnel arrested twelve individuals and seized substantial quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, psilocybin mushrooms, and MDMA. In addition to the illicit drugs, agents recovered narcotics packaging materials, digital scales, and multiple firearms (several of which were illegally possessed by convicted felons).

"Fentanyl and methamphetamine are tearing at the fabric of our communities, and the heavily armed traffickers profit off of addiction and violence," said DEA Special Agent in Charge Steven Hofer. "Operation Clear Horizon sends a clear, unified message to drug networks: no matter the size of your operation, federal, state, and local partners will find you, dismantle your network, and ensure you face justice."

Twelve individuals were arrested on charges ranging from Possession and Distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substances to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Every milligram of fentanyl and methamphetamine removed from the streets during this operation represents lives saved from potential overdose and communities protected from drug-related violent crime. The DEA and its law enforcement partners remain fully committed to aggressively pursuing those who poison our neighborhoods for profit.

The charges outlined above are merely accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
