Special Agent in Charge Joseph B. Tucker leads the Dallas Field Division, overseeing DEA operations in North Texas to include offices in Dallas, Irving, Midlothian, Fort Worth, Lubbock, Amarillo, and Tyler, as well as the entire state of Oklahoma, with offices in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and McAlester.


SAC Tucker began his career in 2005 as a Special Agent assigned to the Los Angeles Field Division. His efforts focused on conducting complex investigations targeting Mexican Transnational Criminal Organizations responsible for manufacturing and distributing drugs throughout the United States. In 2009, SAC Tucker was assigned to the Foreign-deployed Advisory Support Team, during which he planned, coordinated, and directed numerous multifaceted international investigations in Afghanistan as well as operations in other parts of world to include rotations to Kenya, Honduras, Guatemala, and Peru. In April 2017, SAC Tucker was promoted to Group Supervisor in Dallas, Texas, where he led a team focused on combatting cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin trafficking organizations, and developed one of the most productive and successful groups within the division.


In 2021, SAC Tucker transferred to DEA Headquarters, Office of Foreign Operations, where he was responsible for liaising, providing funding support, and case development between country offices, foreign counterparts, and interagency components. In June 2022, SAC Tucker was promoted to the position of Section Chief of the International Impact Section and was responsible for the administrative and programmatic oversight of DEA’s Sensitive Investigative Unit Program, Vetted Unit Program, Foreign Judicial Wire Intercept Program, and Operation All Inclusive, with a budget of over $26 million annually.


In June 2023, SAC Tucker transferred to the Dallas Field Division as Assistant Special Agent in Charge, where he supervised enforcement groups, the Dallas Field Division Special Response Team, and was the Commander for the North Texas Strike Force. In July 2025, SAC Tucker assumed role as the Acting Special Agent in Charge for the Dallas Field Division, In September 2025, he was appointed as the new Special Agent in Charge for the Dallas Field Division.


Prior to his career with DEA, SAC Tucker was employed by the Department of the Navy, where he worked as a budget analyst for Naval and Marine Corp Tactical Aviation Programs. SAC Tucker was responsible for coordinating with over 50 requirements officers in the Air Warfare Division for the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations to plan, program, and execute of an annual budget averaging more than $28 billion.


SAC Tucker is originally from rural Nebraska. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and a minor in Business Management from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky.
