Christopher C. Goumenis is the Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Washington Division, where he supervises operations in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. 

SAC Goumenis has a three-decade career in law enforcement, dedicated to tackling violent crime, drug trafficking, and money laundering activities in the United States. He is committed to identifying and dismantling transnational criminal organizations operating at the local, national, and international levels that are engaged in a range of illegal activities and has a deep understanding of the complex web of drug trafficking and financial crimes, and the many challenges involved in preventing harm to communities.

Before joining the DEA, he served with the Radford and Norfolk, Virginia Police Departments. In 2004, he became a Special Agent assigned to the DEA's Miami Division. Throughout his career, he has worked in various offices and held multiple positions within the agency, including roles in the Atlanta Division's Raleigh District Office, DEA Headquarters (HQ) Office of Inspections and Office of Professional Responsibility, and most recently, the Richmond District Office of the Washington Division.

SAC Goumenis has spearheaded various global enforcement initiatives, worked to disrupt large-scale transnational criminal networks, and successfully shut down illicit drug suppliers and money launderer's operating from countries like China, Mexico, and Colombia. Additionally, he has established joint task forces to address international narcotics smuggling and money laundering as well as regional and local community issues, including violent crime and drug trafficking.

SAC Goumenis' main priority is to protect the American citizens from drug-related harm by taking the fight directly to those poisoning our communities. His leadership approach emphasizes guiding his team to successfully fulfill the DEA's core mission: enforcing drug laws, preventing diversion, and combating the global cartels that profit from suffering and death.

Being a Virginia native, SAC Goumenis was raised in the Hampton Roads area and holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Political Science; a Minor in Sociology; and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice; all from Radford University.
