Jarod Forget has over 20 years of experience in law enforcement, concentrated on stopping drug overdoses and fentanyl poisonings in the United States by detecting, investigating, and prosecuting drug trafficking organizations involved in the illegal production, distribution, and diversion of controlled substances.

He began his career with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in 2004 and was initially assigned to the New York Division. Since then, he has advanced through various leadership positions within the DEA. Following supervisory roles in the Miami Division and the Office of Professional Responsibility, he continued to Assistant Special Agent in Charge and Special Agent in Charge (SAC) roles in the DEA Washington Division, where he managed all DEA operations in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. In January 2025, he was appointed as the Acting Chief of Operations for the DEA, where he led the DEA’s global drug enforcement operations, managing 241 domestic offices across 23 divisions in the United States and 93 foreign offices in 69 countries. In July 2025, he returned to the field as the SAC of the DEA New England Division, where he is responsible for overseeing all operations across six New England states, over 600 personnel, and working closely with local, state, federal, and foreign counterparts to target high-level drug trafficking organizations.

SAC Forget has led global enforcement operations, worked to disrupt violent, large-scale transnational criminal networks, shut down illicit opioid dealers from China and Mexico, and established joint strike forces to combat local community issues like violent crime and substance use disorder. He spent several years at the Guadalajara, Mexico Office, directing high-profile enforcement operations against Mexico’s most notorious and ruthless drug cartels, to include the Sinaloa and Jalisco Cartels.

SAC Forget is responsible for expanding the DEA’s high level of investigative and regulatory services throughout the community, working on new and innovative ways to combat and protect families against the national fentanyl poisoning crisis and violent crime across New England.

SAC Forget is a Massachusetts native. He earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Northeastern University and is a fluent Spanish speaker.
