SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Alfred A. Cooke, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of Drug Enforcement Administration-Merrillville, Indiana, and U.S. Attorney Clifford D. Johnson of the Northern District of Indiana announced that Rashawn Fowler, 34, of South Bend, Indiana, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Chief Judge Jon E. DeGuilio after pleading guilty to distribution of more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.

Fowler was sentenced to 121 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release. 

According to documents in the case, during the summer of 2020, Fowler sold more than half a pound of methamphetamine during a series of controlled buys. In August 2020, investigators arrested Fowler and recovered more than half a pound of methamphetamine, heroin, assorted pills, digital scales, a revolver, and a loaded 9-millimeter pistol. 

This case was investigated by the DEA and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Joel Gabrielse.
