WASHINGTON – "Today’s designation of Chuen Fat Yip under the U.S. Department of State’s Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program marks the culmination of several years of law enforcement and prosecution efforts against one of the most prolific alleged distributors of illicit and dangerous drugs and precursor chemicals operating in China. 

As the largest, multi-ton clandestine, steroid manufacturing operation in Southeast Asia, and a significant distributor of fentanyl, fentanyl precursor chemicals, and other synthetic drugs, Yip has endangered the safety and health of our communities for nearly two decades. 

This reward announcement of up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Yip or information leading to the disruption of the financial mechanisms of Yip’s transnational organized crime group, the Yuancheng Group, reflects not only the serious danger his drug trafficking organization poses to the American people, but also the U.S. Government’s resolve to bring him to justice. 

Actions against Yip were made possible because of the interagency collaboration between DEA, the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Treasury.  Today’s announcement is due in large part to the efforts of DEA’s Dallas and Denver Field Divisions, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas, DEA’s Special Operations Division and Cyber Support Section, and DEA’s Far East Region."
