South Dakota Takedown Nets Multiple Arrests, Weapons and Drugs
SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–Investigators with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) worked with state, local, tribal and federal law enforcement partners on an enforcement activity in six cities of eastern South Dakota earlier today, arresting 10 people on federal drug charges and four people on state drug charges. Agents located and seized methamphetamine and eight firearms at multiple properties this morning.
Search and arrest warrants were served at eight locations in Baltic, Dell Rapids, Eagan, Flandreau, Sioux Falls and Trent, South Dakota, as investigators targeted significant drug threats in these communities. Individuals were charged with multiple federal counts including Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine.
Today’s operation involved the work of investigators with the Flandreau Police Department, Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, Moody County Sheriff’s Office, Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force, Sioux Falls Police Department, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, South Dakota Highway Patrol and Worthington, Minnesota Police Department. Federal law enforcement partners include the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
