Bronx Man Sentenced to Five Years for Methamphetamine Trafficking
BANGOR, ME – DEA New England Division Special Agent in Charge Brian D. Boyle and Acting U.S. Attorney Donald E. Clark announced that a Bronx, New York man was sentenced today in federal court for possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
U.S. District Judge Lance E. Walker sentenced Saul Figuereo, 23, to five years in prison and five years of supervised release. Figuereo pleaded guilty on October 13, 2020.
According to court records, on October 25, 2019, Figuereo concealed a distributable quantity of methamphetamine inside a display in a Brewer convenience store after observing a law enforcement officer nearby. Four days later, a store employee recovered the bag and provided it to police. Through review of the store’s surveillance system, investigators identified Figuereo as the person who concealed the bag of methamphetamine.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Brewer Police Department and the Maine State Police investigated the case.
