Charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl

ST. LOUIS – United States District Judge E. Richard Webber sentenced Justin Moore, 31, of St. Louis, to 60 months in prison for possessing with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and possessing with the intent to distribute fentanyl.

According to the plea agreement, Moore was driving a silver Infiniti SUV when officers of the St. Louis County Special Operations/Special Response Unit noticed that plates on the vehicle belonged to a Chevrolet vehicle. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Moore attempted to conduct evasive maneuvers and then sped off at a high rate of speed. Officers followed the Infiniti when it drove down a dead-end street. After coming to a stop at a concrete barrier, Moore jumped out of the car, ran into a wooded area, and was apprehended. Officers detained a female passenger, Moore’s girlfriend, after she attempted to start the Infiniti and drive off. A child was in the back seat.

A search of the Infiniti revealed a plastic baggie of fentanyl in the driver’s door handle. On the driver’s side floorboard, police found a leather satchel, which contained 33 capsules of fentanyl, Oxycodone, four baggies of marijuana and Moore driver’s license. He was searched and found in possession of a clear baggie with methamphetamine and some marijuana, which was found during the search of his person.

A search of the female passenger revealed a large plastic baggie with methamphetamine. Both Moore and Moore’s girlfriend told police that the drugs found in the car belonged to him, including the methamphetamine found on his girlfriend’s person. His girlfriend had taken the methamphetamine from defendant in an attempt to hide it from police. Moore admitted that he intended to sell some of the drugs to another person.

The St. Louis County Police Department investigated this case with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration St. Louis Division.
