Leader of MS-13’s Hollywood Clique sentenced to 24 Years to life for murder and conspiracy
David Sosa-Guevara A/K/A Risky ordered murder of 15-year old Angel Soler in 2017 and conspired to kill second person
MINEOLA, N.Y. –Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration New York Division Special Agent in Charge Ray Donovan announced that the leader of MS-13’s Hollywood Clique on Long Island was sentenced today to 24 years to life in prison on murder and conspiracy charges.
David Sosa-Guevara, also known as Risky, 28, of Wyandanch, pleaded guilty on Dec. 9, 2019 before Judge Patricia Harrington to charges of Murder in the Second Degree (an A-I felony) and Conspiracy in the Second Degree (a B felony).
DA Singas said that Sosa-Guevara was the head of the Hollywood Clique of MS-13 on Long Island and directed its members to collaborate with the Sailors Clique on Long Island, another violent sect of MS-13. As the head of the Hollywood Clique, the defendant ordered the murder of 15-year old Angel Soler. Acting in concert with members of the clique, he ordered his fellow gang members to kill Soler while he himself was not present at the murder.
Soler was murdered on July 21, 2017, in Nassau County. The victim’s body was mutilated – bearing injuries consistent with the use of a machete – and he suffered blunt force trauma to the head. Soler was left buried until his remains were discovered under cement on Oct. 19, 2017, in a remote wooded area in Roosevelt, just south of the Southern State Parkway.
Additionally, Sosa-Guevara, acting in concert with others, planned the murder of an alleged MS-13 member who was believed to have been disloyal to the gang and ordered the movement of weapons to Maryland for the purposes of that murder.
According to Sosa-Guevara’s allocution in court, MS-13’s Hollywood and Sailor cliques conducted criminal activities that included murder, assault, drug trafficking, money transfers, member movements, member punishment and rival gang retribution. Sosa-Guevara admitted he reported to gang leadership in El Salvador and the United States, and the Hollywood clique’s profits were shared with gang leaders in El Salvador.
The defendant was arrested by members of the Nassau County Police Department’s Homicide Squad in Annapolis, MD, on Nov. 9, 2017.
“With today’s sentence, one of Nassau County’s most dangerous defendants will be off our streets for many years to come,” said DA Singas. “The brutality and senselessness underscore the ruthlessness of MS-13 and our commitment to continuing our assault on them. I thank our partners at the Drug Enforcement Administration, Nassau County Police Department and HSI New York for their assistance in bringing this defendant to justice.”
This case is being prosecuted by Deputy Chief Jared Rosenblatt of DA Singas’ Major Offense Bureau, Deputy Chief Veronica Guariglia and Senior Assistant District Attorney Charles Dunn of the Special Operations and Narcotics Bureau. The defendant is represented by Paul Delle, Esq.
