Sentenced To 10 Years For Conspiracy To Distribute PCP
MAY 24--Shawn
A. Johnson, Special Agent in Charge of DEA’s Washington Division,
announced today the guilty plea and sentencing of Shadita Sweeney.
Sweeney, 28, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with
her guilty plea on conspiracy charges to distribute and possess with
intent to distribute phencyclidine, commonly known as “PCP”.
According to the agreed statement
of facts presented to U.S. District Court Judge Alexander Williams,
Sweeney, acting as a “middleman”,
obtained between one and three kilograms of PCP from a co-defendant and
resold the drugs to others for a profit. Upon her arrest, DEA agents
seized from her home various items used for the packaging and sale of
drugs, including plastic bags, funnels, and a heat sealer. Additionally,
$1,546 was seized from her bedroom.
This case was investigated by the DEA and prosecuted by Assistant United States
Attorney Mythili Raman.
