Bridgeport Drug Dealer Sentenced to 151 Months

JUN 3 - Mark R. Trouville Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and Kevin J. O'Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that DARRIC MYERS, also known as "D-Bone," age 32 (d.o.b. 12/15/71), formerly of 600 Lafayette Street, Apartment 207, Bridgeport, Connecticut, was sentenced today by Senior United States District Judge Peter C. Dorsey in New Haven to 151 months of imprisonment.

On April 25, 2000, MYERS was arrested by Special Agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration working in cooperation with the Bridgeport Police Department's Tactical Narcotics Team on April 25, 2000. A federal grand jury subsequently returned an indictment charging MYERS with a single count of possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and the court ordered him held without bond.

MYERS entered a guilty plea to the offense on October 11, 2001, but was later released in order to arrange for the custody of his children. MYERS, however, was later ordered held without bond pending today's sentencing after his April 16, 2004 arrest on a federal complaint charging him with additional narcotics trafficking offenses. It was disclosed previously that MYERS had been convicted of felony narcotics trafficking offenses in Connecticut Superior Court on four separate occasions when he was between the age of 18 and 22.
