Resident Arrested in Undercover Operation
The
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in cooperation with the Concord
Police Department, the Pittsburg Police Department, the Antioch Police
Department and the San Francisco Police Department announce the arrest
of Keegan Crawford, twenty years of age, a resident of Pittsburg, California.
The investigation
was initiated two months ago. According to a complaint filed in federal
court in San Francisco, undercover law enforcement officers purchased
approximately 550 grams of methamphetamine from Crawford. On 10/23/2002
Crawford was arrested in the area of Pittsburg.
Following Keegan
Crawford's arrest, law enforcement officers found and seized:
An AK-47 assault rifle,
A loaded .45 caliber pistol,
1.5 lbs. of marijuana,
A 1999 Cadillac Escalade,
A 2002 Yamaha R1 motorcycle,
Two cellular telephones,
$4397 in US currency.
Keegan Crawford had
his initial appearance in San Francisco on 10/24/2002 before Magistrate
Maria Elena James and is currently in the custody of the United States
Marshals Service. Crawford was charged with three counts of possession
with intent to distribute methamphetamine in violation of Title 21 United
States Code, section 841 (a)(1) and 841 (b)(1)(B)(viii). If convicted
the defendant faces maximum statutory penalties of five to forty years
of imprisonment and two-million dollar fine for each count. Keegan Crawford
is presumed innocent unless and until convicted.
