SEP 23--Farmington Hills, MI - On September 20, 2004, U.S Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent in Charge (SAC) John Gilbride, and Assistant Special Agents in Charge (ASACs), John Arvanitis, Jimmy Fox, and Rich Badaracco briefed U.S. Representative Joe Knollenberg, 9th District, Michigan, and his staff regarding the DEA’s activities in the 9th Congressional District. The briefing focused on DEA’s enforcement activity, relationships with local law enforcement in the 9th District, current drug trends in the region, and programs that have been conducted by the DEA Demand Reduction Program in the 9th District.

At the conclusion of the briefing, SAC Gilbride committed to continue the open dialogue with Congressman Knollenberg and further agreed to host a future meeting at the Detroit DEA office for the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions from the 9th Congressional District.
