Clifton Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine

DENVER - John Suthers, United States Attorney for the District of Colorado, and Jeffrey D. Sweetin, Special Agent in Charge of the Denver Field Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), announced that TRAVIS ROBINSON, age 42, of Clifton, Colorado, was sentenced today by U.S. District Court Judge Walker D. Miller to serve 97 months (over 8 years) in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of Methamphetamine.

The drug charge stems from the execution of a search warrant at ROBINSON’s residence on July 24, 2003. ROBINSON was indicted by a federal grand jury in Denver on August 4, 2003. He pled guilty to the charge on March 15, 2004. Judge Miller ordered that ROBINSON be remanded into custody to begin serving his sentence immediately.

The case was investigated by the DEA, the Colorado State Patrol/Investigative Unit, and the Grand Valley Joint Drug Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney’s Wyatt Angelo and Craig Wallace from the Grand Junction Branch of the United States Attorneys Office.
