BC Bud Smuggler Arrested
DEC 11--On Thursday, December 11, 2003 members of the DEA Spokane Task Force arrested a Canadian citizen for smuggling BC Bud marijuana into the United States.
As a result of an ongoing effort to disrupt and dismantle drug smuggling organizations in the Pacific Northwest, the DEA Spokane Resident Office acting on investigative leads apprehended Wayne Arthur Shrubsall, 31 of Creston, British Colombia at a local hotel with 32 pounds of BC Bud marijuana valued at $100,000. along with crack cocaine and $6,000. in United States currency.
Shrubsall was arrested and lodged in the Spokane County Jail pending arraignment before the Spokane County District Court on violation of Washington State drug charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of crack cocaine and Federal Immigration charges.
This investigation was also assisted by the Washington State Patrol K-9 Unit whose drug detector dog "Pickles" was utilized to detect the 32 pounds marijuana.
The DEA Spokane Task Force is represented by members of DEA Special Agents, Spokane County Sheriffs Office, Spokane Police Department, Washington State Patrol and Special Agents from the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
