DEA Seizes Methamphetamine and Arrest 2 at Juneau International Airport

B. Yankovich, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Anchorage District
Office announced that Special Agents assigned to the Anchorage District
Office arrested two Douglas, Alaska men and seized approximately ½
kilogram of methamphetamine at the Juneau International Airport.
On August 17, 2003 DEA arrested Jeffrey Scott Wilson, 41 years, residing
in Douglas, Alaska and Richard Lee Lewis, 41 years, residing in Douglas,
Alaska. Wilson and Lewis were charged and indicted for conspiracy to distribute
methamphetamine. The indictment alleges that Wilson and Lewis conspired
to distribute methamphetamine in the Juneau area dating back to March
2002.
Criminal charges were prepared by the United States Attorney’s Office,
District of Alaska. Arraignment for Wilson and Lewis is scheduled for
Friday, August 22, 2003 in Juneau, Alaska. Punishment for these charges
could bring a maximum penalty of life in prison, a $4 million dollar fine,
five years of supervised release, as well as a mandatory minimum of 10
years in federal prison.
