Phoenix Supports Mission of Drug Courts:
Chavez declares benefits to Community
At the 2003 Third Annual Arizona Drug Court Conference, Special Agent in Charge Errol Chavez of the Phoenix Division, closed the conference with his speech outlining the mission of the DEA and the special relationship it has with the Drug Courts. When the enforcers of the law and the upholders of the law combine efforts by dismantling drug trafficking operations and rehabilitating drug abusers, the community at large benefits.
"Drug Courts
brings accountability within the confines of the law and it showers that
accountability with compassion. Drug courts work because of mandatory
testing, immediate sanctions for drug use, frequent appearances in front
of the same judge, and close supervision of rehabilitation. In short,
accountability," SAC Chavez said.
