DEA New Jersey Division
Hosts Hillsdale Junior Police Academy

On July 15, 2005 members of the Hillsdale Junior Police Academy visited the DEA New Jersey Division. The students were greeted by ASAC Brian Collier. This was very special for ASAC Collier because he started his law enforcement career as a patrolman with the Hillsdale Police Dept. The students were given a tour of the office and demonstrations on four important areas of DEA; recruiting, firearms, defensive tactics and technical operations.

During the recruiting section SA Mark Moger explained to the students the importance of a good education and how it can help in their futures. During the firearms section SA Daniel Notte spoke to the students about gun safety and let them try their skills on the F.A.T.S machine. SA Carl Beckett gave the students a defensive tactics demonstration and explained to them how agents protect themselves. SA Keith Attwood of the Technical Operations Group explained to the students about some of the equipment used by the DEA to help during drug investigations. Everyone involved in this event had a great time and are looking forward to next year.
