DEA New Jersey Division
Pays Tribute to Officers who Died on Duty

“New Jersey Law Enforcement Memorial Service”

On Tuesday, May 24, 2005, the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police hosted the 2005 New Jersey Law Enforcement Memorial Service at the Great Auditorium, Ocean Grove, New Jersey, to honor those New Jersey law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

The Honorable Richard J. Codey Acting Governor of New Jersey delivered the keynote address. Over 2,000 law enforcement personnel and families attended the memorial. The service remembers officers who lost their lives in New Jersey since 1854.

Drug Enforcement Administration New Jersey Division Special Agent in Charge Michael Pasterchick, Jr., presented a wreath from the New Jersey Division in memory of all the New Jersey fallen law enforcement officers that were killed in the line of duty along with fallen DEA Special Agents Frank C. Tummillo (10-12-1972) and Everett E. Hatcher (02-28-1989). “Today serves as a reminder to all of us in law enforcement of the ultimate sacrifice that some of our brothers and sisters in law enforcement make,” Pasterchick stated.

Additionally, the DEA Black & Gold Pipes & Drums Band (“Never To be Forgotten”) joined together with the New Jersey United Pipe Band and played several tunes honoring our fallen hero’s. This was the first time a federal agency pipes and drums band was asked to join in the ceremony.
