19th Annual Enrique "Kiki" Camarena Golf Tournament
The
Miami Field Division and the Survivor's Benefit Fund hosted the 19th annual
Enrique "Kiki" Camarena Golf Tournament. The annual event is
held in memory of DEA Special Agent Kiki Camarena. Agents of the Miami
Field Division, where Kiki was assigned early in his career, established
the Survivor's Benefit Fund and began the tradition of the golf tournament
to raise money for the families of employees, like Kiki, who were killed
in the line of duty. The Survivor's Benefit Fund has assisted the families
of 38 of the 71 DEA employees who died in the line of duty. The Survivor's
Benefit Fund also provides a continuing scholarship fund for their children
and supports various programs designed to preserve the memory of our slain
colleagues. This year, over 250 participants played in the golf tournament
and the event was a great success. In addition to the tournament, a Silent
Auction of assorted sports memorabilia was held to raise additional funds.
SAC Thomas W. Raffanello thanked all the sponsors, participants and Miami
Field Division volunteers that helped make this year's event successful.
