MFD Groups Play in Second Charity Softball Tournament

FEB 13--MIAMI, FL - The Miami Field Division sponsored its second softball tournament to benefit charity. MFD personnel from Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach participated in the event and raised $2,368 for the Police Athletic League (PAL). PAL is a non-profit organization spanning 90 years of commitment to youth. PAL is the largest organization of law enforcement agencies utilizing athletics, recreational and educational activities to instill positive principles and character building tools in an effort to deter juvenile crime and violence. There are over 350 PAL chapters nationwide serving approximately 2 million children, ages 5 to 18. MD Special Agents organized the event, which was sponsored by the Women’s Program of the MFD. The winning teams were MD HIDTA Group 42 and second place went to a combination team of MD Groups 1 and 15. The most surprising team was the Southeast Regional Lab (SERL) which proved that there’s more to chemistry than science.

The DEA Miami Division raised over $2,000 for charity by participating in the softball tournament.
