Early Morning Raids Net 8 Alledged Drug Traffickers


NOV 19-- In the early morning hours of November 18, 2004, local law enforcement with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Ector Country Sheriff's Office, Texas Department of Public Safety (Highway Patrol and Narcotics Division) executed 8 federal indictments for conspiracy to possess and distribute cocaine.

This was the culmination of an investigation spanning the past several months. The Big Spring Police Department and the Howard Country Sheriff's Office that the DEA from Lubbock, Texas, and the West Texas Narcotics Task Force and other associated agencies for their initiative in conducting this investigation.

Alleged defendants arrested were:

1. Ruben Gamboa, Big Spring, Texas
2. Ruben Valencia Gamboa, Big Spring, Texas
3. Emanuel Cervantes, Big Spring, Texas
4. Robert Franco, Big Spring, Texas
5. Michael Zubiate
6. David Gamboa, Big Spring, Texas
7. Arturo Yanez
8. Eric Delbosquez

The law enforcement agencies involved this morning also executed 5 search warrants for residences located in various parts of Big Spring. During the searches, several weapons and ammunition, cast, and a sizeable amount of cocaine were located and seized. There were also numerous seizure of vehicles directly related to this investigation.

The persons arrested will appear before a Federal Magistrate later this week.
