Five Alleged Drug Traffickers Indicted in the Eastern District of Oklahoma

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA - United States Attorney Sheldon J. (Shelly) Sperling announced that on November 9, 2004, the United States Grand Jury for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, meeting at Muskogee, returned an indictment against ARMON TODD HARWOOD, a/k/a Todd Armon Harwood, age 28, of Lewisville, Texas.

The defendant was charged in a five-count Superceding Indictment by the Grand Jury alleging: 21 U.S.C. Section 841(c)(1) and 18 U.S.C. Section 2, Possession and Distribution of Listed Chemicals; 21 U.S.C. Sections 841(a)(1) & 841(b)(1)(B)(viii) and 18 U.S.C. Section 2, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine; 21 U.S.C. Sections 841(a)(1) & 841(b)(1)(D) and 18 U.S.C. Section 2, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana; 18 U.S.C. Sections 922(g)(1) & 2, Felon in Possession of Firearm; 18 U.S.C Section 924(c)(1)(A)(i), & Section 2, Possession of Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime.

HARWOOD faces a maximum punishment of 25 years in prison.­ The charges arise from an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

On November 9, 2004, the United States Grand Jury for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, meeting at Muskogee, returned an indictment against CERRARDO RAMIREZ TREJO, a/k/a Garerdo Erago Ramirez, a/k/a Gerardo Ramirez Trejo, age 28, of Poteau, OK.

TREJO was charged in a one-count Indictment by the Grand Jury alleging: 21 U.S.C. Sections 841(a)(1) & (b)(1)(A), Possession with the Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and Distribution of Methamphetamine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance.

TREJO faces a maximum punishment of ­ten years to life in prison. The charges arise from an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

On November 9, 2004, the United States Grand Jury for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, meeting at Muskogee, returned an indictment against PEDRO ZACARIAS, a/k/a Pedro Zacarias, III, a/k/a Pete Zacarias, a/k/a Petey Zacarias, age 26, of Wilmington, CA.

The defendant is charged in a two-count Indictment alleging: 21 U.S.C. Sections 841(a)(1) & (b)(1)(A)(iii), Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (Methamphetamine); 21 U.S.C. Sections 841(a)(1) & (b)(1)(A)(iii), Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (cocaine).

The defendant faces a maximum punishment of ­ten years to life in prison. The charges arise from an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

On November 9, 2004, the United States Grand Jury for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, meeting at Muskogee, returned an indictment against RYAN O. COPPIN, a/k/a Ryan Coppins, a/k/a Rodney Culver, age 32, of Orangeburg, SC.

The defendant is charged in a two-count Indictment alleging: 21 U.S.C. Sections 841(a)(1) & (b)(1)(A)(ii))(II), Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance; 21 U.S.C. Sections 841(a)(1) & (b)(1)(D), Possession with Intent to Distribute Marihuana, a Schedule I Controlled Substance.

The defendant faces a maximum punishment of ­ten years to life in prison. The charges arise from an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

On November 9, 2004, the United States Grand Jury for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, meeting at Muskogee, returned an indictment against KENNETH EUGENE BARRETT, age 43, of Sequoyah County, Oklahoma.

The defendant is charged in a three-count Indictment alleging: 18 U.S.C. Sections 924(c)(1)(A), (j), Use and Carry a Firearm During and Relation to Drug Trafficking Crimes and Possess a Firearm in Furtherance of Such Drug Trafficking Offenses, Resulting in Death; 18 U.S.C. Sections 924(c)(1)(A), (j), Use and Carry a Firearm During and Relation to a Crime of Violence and Possess a Firearm in Furtherance of Such Crime of Violence; 21 U.S.C. Section 848(e)(1)(B), Intentionally Killing, During the Commission of a Drug Trafficking Crime, a State Law Enforcement Officer, Engaged in the Performance of His Official Duties.

The defendant faces a maximum punishment of ­death or life in prison on each charge. The charges arise from an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the District 27 District Attorney's Task Force.

A grand jury Indictment does not constitute evidence of guilt. A grand jury Indictment is a method of bringing formal charges against the defendant. Each defendant is presumed innocent of the charges and may not be found guilty unless evidence establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
