Caribbean Division Starts Agressive Recruitment Campaign Aimed at Returning Servicemen
OCT 29--FT.
BUCHANAN, Puerto Rico – The Caribbean Division recently initiated
an aggressive Special Agent recruitment campaign which target returning
servicemen on duty at Operation Iraqi Freedom. In collaboration with
the Ft. Buchanan U.S. Army Garrison the Caribbean Division prominently
displayed a colorful recruitment banner at a heavily transited intersection
of this U.S. Army installation. Ft.
Buchanan serves as the mobilization station for all U.S. Army Reserve
and Army National Guard units in Puerto
Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Thousands of Reservists and National
Guardsmen from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands call Ft. Buchanan
home during their mobilization and de-mobilization process. Ft. Buchanan
also serves as the only active duty installation in the Caribbean, providing
myriad services to the U.S. Armed Forces and federal government agencies
trough the Caribbean region. Hundreds of inquires from returning servicemen
had been generated as a result of this initiative. The experience, discipline,
and special skills of these servicemen are certainly an asset which will
benefit our Special Agent corps. By opening the door to a new, challenging
and rewarding career once they fulfill their military service and the
opportunity to continue fighting for our freedom trough our Nation’s
sustained war against drugs is another example DEA support to our troops.
