New England Field Division Participates in Red Ribbon Week

TAMWORTH, NH….The K.A. Brett Elementary School, Tamworth, NH culminated their Red Ribbon Week Celebration with the entire student body standing to form the words "Drug Free". In addition to learning the lessons of what Red Ribbon Week stands for, the students used fun activities such as "Put a Cap On It", where the students were allowed to wear hats to school and "Stomp Out Drugs", where the students were allowed to wear funny shoes to demonstrate their anti-drug commitment.

On Tuesday, 1500 Southwick, Massachusetts area students kicked off Red Ribbon week with DEA Special Agent Tina Murphy, who explained the origin of the red ribbons they were wearing and stressed to the students the importance of being substance and violence-free. This is the second consecutive year that Southwick schools have observed Red Ribbon Week.

At the Powder Mill Middle School in Southwick students observed substance awareness with activities every day of the school week. Their invited guests included professional women's basketball player Rebecca Lobo who delivered the anti-drug message and DEA Special Agent pilot, Jack Flaherty who participated in the event by demonstrating the DEA helicopter to the students.
