New York Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Marijuana Distribution Charge

June W. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and Kevin J. O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that GEORGE WILSON, age 33, formerly of 459 Parkway Drive, Elmont, New York, has pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing with the intent to distribute marijuana. WILSON’s guilty plea was accepted yesterday, October 26, by United States District Judge Mark R. Kravitz in New Haven.

According to court documents and statements made during the court proceeding, On June 3, 2005, WILSON possessed with the intent to distribute marijuana in Stamford, Connecticut.

Judge Kravitz has scheduled sentencing for January 27, 2006, at which time WILSON faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years and a fine of up to $500,000. WILSON has been detained since his arrest on June 3.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Edward T. Kang.
