Springfield Man Sentenced for Distributing Crack Cocaine

Springfield, MA... A Springfield man was sentenced late yesterday in federal court for distributing crack cocaine.

Mark R. Trouville, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and United States Attorney Michael J. Sullivan, announced that LINCOLN BROWN, age 34, of Springfield, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Michael A.Ponsor to 10 years’ imprisonment, to be followed by 5 years of supervised release. BROWN pleaded guilty on September 18, 2003 to distributing a total of 155 grams of crack cocaine onseveral dates between March and June of 2000.

At the earlier plea hearing, the prosecutor told the Court that, had the case proceeded to trial the Government’s evidence would have proven that BROWN, together with three codefendants, sold a total of 528 grams of crack cocaine on March 17, March 24, May 4, and June 2, 2000 to an undercover police officer. BROWN was a fugitive from the charges until his arrest in New York City in June of 2002.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Springfield Task Force.
