Stamford Crack Dealer Pleads Guilty

Mark R. Trouville, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and Kevin J. O'Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that BERNARD BILLIE, age 20, of 709 Washington Blvd.,Stamford, Connecticut, pleaded guilty today in Bridgeport to a felony count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine base ("crack"). United States District Judge Stefan R. Underhill accepted BILLIE's plea of guilty.

As reflected in documents filed with the Court, BILLIE admitted that on five separate dates - August 27, 2002, October 29 and 30, 2002, and January 2 and 10, 2003 - he sold cocaine base to an undercover law enforcement officer. The total net weight of the cocaine base sold to the undercover officers was 1.54 grams.

BILLIE faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years and a fine of up to $1,000,000. Judge Underhill has scheduled sentencing for January 11, 2005.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Stamford Police Department.
