New York Woman Pleads Guilty to Federal Marijuana Distributor Charge

June W. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and Kevin J. O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that CAROL WILLIAMS, age 31, formerly of 17833 178th Avenue, Queens, New York, pleaded guilty today in federal court to a charge of possessing with the intent to distribute marijuana. WILLIAMS’s guilty plea was accepted by United States District Judge Mark R. Kravitz in New Haven.

According to court documents and statements made at today’s plea proceeding, on June 3, 2005, WILLIAMS possessed with the intent to distribute approximately 100 pounds of marijuana in Stamford, Connecticut.

Judge Kravitz has scheduled sentencing for December 12, 2005, at which time WILLIAMS faces a maximum term of imprisonment of five years and a fine of up to $250,000. WILLIAMS has been detained since her arrest on June 3.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
