Carbondale,
Illinois Man Indicted On Crack Cocaine
Charge

16 -- (East St. Louis, IL)
- A. Courtney Cox, United States Attorney
for the Southern District of Illinois,
announced today that on February 17,
2010, LARRY D. LEE a/k/a “Papa,” age
28, of Carbondale, was indicted by
a Federal Grand Jury sitting in East
St. Louis, in a one-count indictment
charging him with conspiracy to distribute
crack cocaine. The violation is alleged
to have taken place between November
2006 and February 2009, in Jackson
and Union Counties.
The
offense carries a penalty of 10 years
to life imprisonment, a fine of up to
$4,000,000, and a term of 5 years supervised
release. LEE made his initial appearance
in federal court on March 16, 2010,
and was ordered detained without bond
pending a jury trial, which is currently
scheduled for May 18, 2010.
The
investigation which resulted in this
charge was conducted by the Jackson
County Sheriff’s Office and Murphysboro
Police Department, in conjunction with
the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group,
Carbondale Police Department, and the
Drug Enforcement Administration. In
addition, the Jackson County States
Attorney’s Office assisted during
the investigation.
The
case is assigned to Assistant United
States Attorney Amanda A. Robertson
for prosecution. |
