Warrant Served at Palm Springs Care Givers
NOV 3 --
PALM SPRINGS – The Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”)
Palm Springs Narcotics Task Force conducted a search warrant earlier
today at Palm Springs Care Givers (“PSCG”), a business
operating in Palm Springs, California. This search warrant was the
result of an investigation into the illegal sale and distribution of
marijuana by PSCG. On November 2, 2006, agents and officers served
a search warrant at PSCG, 2100 N. Palm Canyon, Units 104 and 105B,
Palm Springs, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of marijuana
and marijuana edibles.
According to the
affidavit in support of the search warrant served today, PSCG is alleged
to be operating as a store-front marijuana business, selling marijuana
for profit in violation of California law. The affidavit further states
that as a result of a search warrant served at PSCG on October 4, 2006,
agents and officers seized a substantial amount of marijuana and products
containing marijuana to include liquid and edible items labeled with
names such as, “Cronic Crunch,” “Cronic Cocktails,” “Pot
Rockets,” and “Dj’s Kushbar” as well as advertisements
for a variety of different marijuana “products” and “best
sellers.”
This investigation
was initiated in September 2006 following an incident at a local hotel
where a bag containing marijuana edibles was allegedly left for an
employee of the hotel as a “tip”. According to the affidavit
in support of the October 4, 2006 search warrant, the marijuana edibles
were left at the hotel by Joshua Aleck of Valencia. That affidavit
further states that Aleck has a working relationship with PSCG and
is believed to be the brother of the owner of PSCG.
This is an on-going
DEA investigation. Leads are being actively pursued and developed in
coordination with the participating police agencies. Further information
will be disseminated to press outlets when available for release. Please
forward any questions to DEA Los Angeles Public Information Officer
Sarah Pullen at (213) 621-6827 or Palm Springs Police Department Public
Information Officer Sergeant. Mitch Spike (760) 323-8106.
