Kentucky
Man Pleads Guilty To Meth Distribution

19 -- (Louisville, KY) - United
States Attorney Candace G. Hill of the
Western District of Kentucky announced
today that Douglas Stanton, also known
as “Cowboy,” age 54, of Cecilia,
Kentucky, pled guilty on April 16, 2010,
to possessing and distributing methamphetamine
powder.
During
his guilty plea, Stanton admitted that on
May 13, 2009, he possessed 50 grams or more
of a substance containing methamphetamine,
with the intent to distribute the substance.
The
maximum potential penalties are 40 years
imprisonment, a $2,000,000 fine, and lifetime
period of supervised release. The minimum
potential penalties are 5 years imprisonment
and supervised release for a period of 4
years.
The
case was prosecuted by Assistant United States
Attorney Thomas W. Dyke, and it was investigated
by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration
(DEA) and the Greater Hardin County Narcotics
Task Force.
The
plea was entered before John G. Heyburn II,
Judge, United States District Court, Louisville,
Kentucky. Stanton is scheduled to be sentenced
before Judge Heyburn on July 26, 2010, at
10:00 a.m., in Louisville, Kentucky.
