Charlestown
Man Charged With Conspiracy To Distribute
Oxycodone

27 -- BOSTON, Mass. - A Charlestown
man was charged today in U.S. District
Court in Boston with conspiracy to distribute
oxycodone.

Carmen M. Ortiz and , announced today that
MATTHEW
MCDONALD
, 26, of Charlestown, Massachusetts, was
charged in a one-count indictment with conspiracy
to possess with intent to distribute, and
to distribute, oxycodone, a Schedule II controlled
substance.
The
Indictment alleges MCDONALD participated
in a conspiracy to distribute oxycodone from
in or about April 2008 through in or about
October 2009.
If
convicted on this charge, MCDONALD faces
up to 20 years imprisonment, to be followed
by at least three years supervised release
and a $1 million fine.
The
case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement
Administration’s Tactical Diversion
Squad, which is comprised of investigators
from the DEA and the Worcester, Westborough,
North Andover, North Reading, and Burlington
Police Departments.
