Meriden
Woman
Sentenced
for
Role
in
Cocaine
Distribution
Conspiracy

Attorney
for
the
District
of Connecticut,
announced
that
MARLENE
SOTO,
age
28,
of 410
Crown
Street,
Meriden,
Connecticut,
was
sentenced
today
by Senior
United
States
District
Judge
Peter
C. Dorsey
in New
Haven
to six
months
of home
confinement
and
three
years
of probation
for
engaging
in a
conspiracy
to distribute
cocaine.
SOTO
pleaded
guilty
to the
offense
on March
13,
2007,
and
admitted
that
she
distributed
between
25 and
50 grams
of cocaine.
On
October
4, 2006,
a federal
grand
jury returned
an Indictment
charging
SOTO and
several
other
individuals
with various
narcotics
offenses
involving
the distribution
of cocaine
and crack
cocaine
in and
around
Meriden.
This
investigation
was a
collaborative
effort
of the
Federal
Bureau
of Investigation,
the Drug
Enforcement
Administration,
and the
Meriden
Police
Department.
