Mr. Keith Weis has been employed with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for more than 27 years, serving in a variety of domestic and foreign offices during his tenure. His career began in August 1991, where upon graduating from the DEA Academy, was assigned to the Portland, Oregon District Office. During this assignment, Mr. Weis gained experience conducting criminal investigations with numerous local, state, and federal narcotics task forces in Salem and Portland, Oregon. Also during this assignment, Mr. Weis volunteered for “Jungle Interdiction” deployments to the countries of Colombia and Peru.
In 1996, Mr. Weis was selected and transferred to the Nassau, Bahamas Country Office where he served as a DEA liaison to the Government of The Bahamas and assisted in the execution of joint interdiction operations with other DEA foreign offices throughout the Caribbean.
In 2002, Mr. Weis was promoted and reassigned to the DEA’s Special Operations Division as a Staff Coordinator, where he was responsible for coordinating U.S. counter narcotics investigations in the Caribbean and South America. In 2006, Mr. Weis was re-assigned to the position of Resident Agent in Charge of the Boise, Idaho Resident Office. As the Resident Agent in Charge, Mr. Weis was responsible for DEA operations for the entire state of Idaho.
In 2009, Mr. Weis was promoted to the position of Assistant Regional Director and subsequently transferred to the DEA’s Kabul, Afghanistan Country Office. In this assignment, Mr. Weis had oversight of DEA counter narcotics operations in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. In 2011, he was re-assigned to the position of Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the Denver Field Division. While at the Denver Field Division, Mr. Weis managed numerous DEA enforcement operations and interdiction programs in Colorado, Utah, Montana and Wyoming.
In 2015 Mr. Weis was promoted into the Senior Executive Service (SES) level as the Special Agent in Charge for the Seattle Field Division. SAC Weis’ current responsibilities include managerial oversight of all DEA operations in the States of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. Mr. Weis graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and also served with the United States Air Force for 10 years.
