Brian M. Clark serves as the Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) San Francisco Field Division. Mr. Clark oversees all enforcement operations, drug diversion and regulatory investigations and administrative operations throughout 49 of California’s 58 counties, encompassing the area from Bakersfield to the Oregon border.
Mr. Clark is from Chatham, Illinois and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University. He holds a Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles and is a member of the Georgia State Bar.
Prior to joining DEA, Mr. Clark served as an officer within the United States Air Force, Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), and conducted criminal, counterintelligence and counterterrorism operations and investigations. He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and served in Afghanistan.
Mr. Clark joined DEA in 2008 and was assigned as a Special Agent to the Los Angeles Field Division, where he conducted investigations targeting violent street gangs, money launderers, and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs). In 2015, Mr. Clark was promoted to a Supervisory Special Agent, and led an enforcement group at the Orange County Resident Office and later a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force Group. In 2018, Mr. Clark was selected to be the Resident Agent in Charge of the Orange County Resident Office, where he oversaw all enforcement and administrative operations and served on the HIDTA Executive Board for the region.
In 2019, Mr. Clark reported to DEA Headquarters and was assigned as an Inspector in the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), Western Field Office, where he investigated allegations of misconduct levied against DEA employees. In 2021, he was promoted to Senior Inspector in OPR, and led a team of investigators handling all DEA internal investigations covering the Western United States, Middle East, and Asia Pacific regions.
In 2022, Mr. Clark transferred to the Los Angeles Field Division as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge. In this capacity, Mr. Clark supervised four enforcement groups and the Ventura Resident Office.
In 2023, Mr. Clark was appointed to the Senior Executive Service by Administrator Anne Milgram and assigned to lead the San Francisco Field Division.
