Two New York Individuals Indicted for Marijuana Distribution

June W. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and Kevin J. O'Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that a federal grand jury sitting in Bridgeport returned an indictment today charging GEORGE WILSON, age 33, of 459 Parkway Drive, Elmont, New York, and CAROL WILLIAMS, also known as "CeCe," age 31, of 17833 178th Avenue, Queens, New York, with possessing with the intent to distribute a mixture or substance containing marijuana on June 3, 2005.

If convicted, WILSON faces a maximum term of imprisonment of ten years and a fine of up to $500,000, and WILLIAMS faces a maximum term of imprisonment of five years and a fine of up to $250,000. United States Attorney O'Connor stressed that an indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. The defendants are entitled to a fair trial at which it is the Government's burden to prove their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
