DEA and USPS unveil Drug Free USA Forever stamp

WASHINGTON – The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Acting Administrator Timothy Shea welcomed U.S. Postal Service Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer Louis DeJoy, Miss America 2020 Camille Schrier, and National Family Partnership President Peggy Sapp for the unveiling of the Drug Free USA Forever stamp at DEA headquarters today. The stamp promotes drug abuse prevention and helps raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.

DEA Las Vegas District Office launches Virtual Youth Opioid Summit during Red Ribbon Week

LAS VEGAS – Red Ribbon Week highlights the importance of living a drug-free life style and presents an opportunity for parents, educators, and communities to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with their children throughout the year. Red Ribbon Week has grown throughout the U.S. since Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Enrique S. "Kiki" Camarena was killed by drug traffickers in 1985. Throughout the country wearing red ribbons is a symbol to remember Agent Camarena and to increase awareness towards drug-free lifestyles.

San Diego Drug and Money Laundering Cell Leader Sentenced to 17 Years

SAN DIEGO – Javier Felix Bayardo, a resident of Sinaloa, Mexico who was living in the San Diego area, was sentenced in federal court today to 17 years in custody for his role as the organizer of drug and money- laundering conspiracies and for possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

DEA announces launch of Project Safeguard

Drug Enforcement Administration Acting Administrator Timothy J. Shea and Special Agent in Charge Robert J. Bell, Chicago Division, announced that the DEA will direct resources to help reduce violent crime in Chicago and communities throughout the country. Under this initiative, called Project Safeguard, DEA will identify and prioritize drug trafficking investigations with a nexus to violent crime.
