DEA Issues Carfentanil Warning To Police And Public

WASHINGTON - DEA has issued a public warning to the public and law enforcement nationwide about the health and safety risks of carfentanil. Carfentanil is a synthetic opioid that is 10,000 times more potent than morphine and 100 times more potent than fentanyl, which itself is 50 times more potent than heroin.  DEA, local law enforcement and first responders have recently seen the presence of carfentanil, which has been linked to a significant number of overdose deaths in various parts of the country.

Heroin Traffickers Sentenced

AMARILLO, Texas - A couple arrested earlier this year after a traffic stop in Carson County, Texas, and then found to have 3,825 grams of heroin in bundles in a suitcase in the cargo section of their vehicle, have been sentenced, announced U.S. Attorney John Parker of the Northern District of Texas.

Jackson District Office Dismantles Violent Gang-Related Drug Trafficking Organization

JACKSON, Miss. - Multiple defendants face conspiracy and drug charges in the Southern District of Mississippi, announced Drug Enforcement (DEA) Special Agent in Charge Stephen G. Azzam.  The multi-count indictment is the result of a two-year investigation by the federal Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task (OCDETF) in this district.
