The Watch Operations Section provides immediate “real-time support" to Federal, state, local, tribal, campus, and international law enforcement officers. The Watch Operations Section has the ability to query multiple federal databases and provides law enforcement entities with information in furtherance of their awareness and safety.
The Tactical Operations Section provides “real-time” tactical support to criminal investigations and law enforcement operations. The Tactical Operations Section offers 24/7/365 electronic monitoring in support of Blue Force protection, electronic tracking devices, cellular device tracking, and pole camera monitoring. Additionally, the Section provides information on commercial and private aircraft intelligence, such as plane registrations and flight plans. Another function of the Section is conducting PIPELINE/CONVOY and JETWAY training to provide interdiction personnel with the tools and knowledge necessary to conduct criminal interdiction of private and commercial motor vehicles and commercial methods of transport.
Research and Analysis
The Research and Analysis Section offers financial asset intelligence to identify potentially forfeitable assets. Additionally, the Section provides independent and “by request” analysis of criminal threats and activity affecting the United States, to create awareness of current and emerging threats and challenges. The Section also provides analysis of the movement of illegal drugs and bulk cash into and within the United States. Another function of the Section is to provide analysis on transnational criminal organizations and their impact on U.S. communities and criminal activity throughout the United States, with a specific focus along the Southwest and Northern borders. The Section also edits, reviews, manages, and disseminates EPIC analytical products and requests for information in order to effectively and efficiently answer the needs of law enforcement.
