California Man Sentenced on Cocaine Charges

JAN 29 - Illinois, announced today that on January 29, 2010, MYLES A. PAUL, age 39, of Lynwood, California, was sentenced to 151 months imprisonment. PAUL pled guilty on October 14, 2009, to one count of possession with intent to distribute five (5) kilograms or more of cocaine. PAUL was also sentenced to five years of supervised release to be served after his release from prison, and to pay $1,000 in fines and special assessment.

The charge stemmed from a traffic stop by the Illinois State Police on I-55 near Collinsville,
Illinois, which led to the discovery of in excess of 80 kilograms of cocaine. The cocaine was discovered in a hidden compartment after a State Police K-9 alerted to the presence of drugs in the truck-tractor that was driven by PAUL.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Illinois State
Police, and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ranley R. Killian.
