DEA Prescription Drug Take-Back a Success
Unused Medications Dropped Off in Record Numbers

SEP 28 -- San Diego & Imperial, CA – The final tally is in from the 1 ST National Prescription Take-Back Day this past Saturday, September 25, 2010. DEA and its partners took back prescription drugs at 24 locations in San Diego County and four locations in Imperial County.

Over the course of four hours, 4887.4 pounds of drugs were turned into the locations in both counties.

319 boxes were filled and sealed for destruction on Saturday. A complete tally sheet that breaks amounts taken in by location is attached for review.

“The coordination and participation with all our partners was what made this event such a success,” said DEA San Diego Special Agent in Charge Ralph W.
