DEA Philadelphia Celebrates Black History Month

FEB 23--On 2/16/06 the DEA Philadelphia FD celebrated Black History Month in a joint celebration with Philadelphia PD, T V Channel 10 reporter Harry Hairston and Students from the Mathematics, Civics and Sciences Charter School of Philadelphia (MCSCS). Special Agent in Charge James M. Kasson noted that “ Today, we remember the many African American individuals, who in recent American history have made their voices heard, their creativity seen, and continue to stand up in the face of racism and say let this happen no more. You are our future; let your voices be heard.” Students from the MCSCS celebrated the event with their art, poetry and song. The celebration concluded with a luncheon consisting of African American ethnic food.
