Daniel R. Salter
Special Agent in Charge
Daniel R. Salter entered on duty as a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration in 1987 and was assigned to the El Paso District Office. Mr. Salter served as a special agent in San Antonio, Texas, Lima, Peru, Guatemala City, Guatemala, Trinidad, Bolivia, and Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
In 1998, SA Salter was transferred to the Nashville, Tennessee Resident Office and promoted to the position of Group Supervisor. In 2001, GS Salter was transferred to the Clandestine Laboratory Training Unit in Quantico, Virginia. In June of 2003, GS Salter was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Domestic Training Section in Quantico. In March of 2005, ASAC Salter was transferred to the Dallas Field Division responsible for Enforcement Groups located in North Texas.
In September, 2013, SAC Salter was promoted as the Special Agent in Charge for the Dallas Field Division responsible for North Texas and the state of Oklahoma. On February 23, 2015, SAC Salter reported to the Atlanta Field Division and is responsible for the states of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
SAC Salter is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso where he met and married his college sweetheart. They are the proud parents of two outstanding kids who are both entering into public service.
