The
Los Angeles Field Division and District Office worked hand-in-hand with
area leaders to combat ecstasy. On March 17th and 18th, the group sponsored
Operation X-Out - Dancing With Darkness. The event, held at the
University of Las Vegas, consisted of a Youth Town Hall Meeting and a
daylong information seminar. Rogelio Guevara, DEA Chief of Operations
and Daniel Bogden, United States Attorney for Nevada highlighted the events.
Additionally, a strong supporter of the DEA's efforts, Nevada Assemblywoman
Sharron E. Angle, was in attendance. Guest
speaker Lynn Smith provided the most effective presentation during the
two-day event. Smith, featured on an MTV special that chronicles her experiences
with ecstasy, spoke passionately to a captive audience about the danger
ecstasy poses.

Members
of the DEA community present certificates of appreciation to all those
who helped with the successful Operation X-Out - Dancing With Darkness
and for their continued support of the DEA mission.
