East St. Louis Man Sentenced To Over 20 Years In Prison For Distribution Of Crack Cocaine
MAY 3 -- (BENTON, IL) - A. Courtney Cox, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced that on April 30, 2010, MICHAEL BEAVER, age 35, of East St. Louis, Illinois, was sentenced in Benton, Illinois, after previously pleading guilty to a two (2) count indictment charging him with two counts of Distribution of Crack Cocaine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841(a) (1). The violations took place between January and March of 2006, in St. Clair County, Illinois. BEAVER received a sentence of 262 months in the Bureau of Prisons, followed by 10 years of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Nicole Gorovsky.
