Mascoutah Mah Pleads Guilty to Crack Cocaine Offense
MAR 20 -- (EAST ST. LOUIS, IL) - A. Courtney Cox, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today that on March 19, 2009, Odie L. DONES, Jr. , age 25, of Mascoutah, Illinois pled guilty to two counts of distribution of crack cocaine.
Each offense charged carries with it a penalty of a term of imprisonment of not less than five (5) years nor more then forty (40) years’ imprisonment, a fine of not more than $2 million dollars, or both, and a term of supervised release of at least four (4) years. Sentencing is scheduled for June 29, 2009, in East St. Louis, Illinois. DONES was charged with distributing “crack” cocaine in St. Clair County, Illinois, on two occasions in December 2006.
The investigation was conducted under the auspices of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. Agencies involved with the investigation include the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel T. Kapsak.
